Background: The RiverRidge Croquet Court opened for its first season in 2003; shortly there after the RiverRidge Croquet Association was formed. We use a full-size croquet lawn located at the RiverRidge Golf Complex in Eugene, Oregon. The RiverRidge Croquet Association offers a free introductory class to anyone interested in checking us out. We play all year-round and work hard to instruct and encourage our new members. Most of what we do revolves around the following: A. To spread our love for 6 wicket croquet. B. We play for fun (at least primarily). C. We want to make croquet more popular everywhere. The association sponsors several tournaments each year, large and small. The 2003 Oregon State American Rules Championship and the 2004 Oregon State Association Laws Championship were held at RiverRidge. We hold a small local tournament each spring, summer and fall. Our court is one of the best maintained lawns in the state, equipment is professional grade, and the surroundings are beautiful. As the end of our second season approaches, I’m trilled that the interest in croquet at RiverRidge continues to grow. Our court was leased out several times this summer for birthday parties, team building corporate events and as a way for businesses to say thank you to their employees for their hard work during the year. If you currently enjoy playing croquet in your back yard with family and friends, or used to when the kids were all at home, you need to check us out. This is croquet at the next level. It is a real kick in the pants! Many of our members enjoy casual play, others more competitively. Membership is $100 a year, non-members $10 a game. This has to be one of the best recreational deals in town. As we finish up our second year of play, our members wish to again thank owners Ric and Debbie Jeffries for all their support throughout the year. Please give us a call for more information.
